Itezhi tezhi

Itezhi tezhi is a district located in the Southern Province of Zambia. The administrative capital is Itezhi tezhi. The population of the district was estimated at about 43,000 people as of 2000, and the district has fairly extensive reserves of copper, coal and other precious stones. It was part of Southern province until early this year that it was re-aligned to central province by the Patriotic Front Government through a presidential directive. Itezhi-tezhi district is mainly covered by high and low plain lands and in some areas trees that are drought resistant.
