Essentials in Antigua and Barbuda
It is mandatory for all visitors of Antigua and Barbuda to carry a passport valid for at least 6 months. If their stay does not exceed six months and they verify it sufficiently, visitors from Australia, Canada, the European Union and the USA do not have to obtain a visa in order to enter the country. Natives of other countries or visitors who want to stay in Antigua and Barbuda for longer need to apply for a visa before entering the country. The islands are frequently hit by hurricanes in the time between May and November and there is danger of Dengue Fever in some areas of the country. It is recommended that visitors are vaccinated against hepatitis A, B, tetanus and yellow fever. Tap water is generally safe to drink.
