National Agencies

There are many types of agencies in Australia that monitor, maintain and regulate all of the public and governmental services provided by Acts passed by parliament. They cover areas such as education and training (examples: Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, National Childcare Accreditation Council); environment, climate change and water (Environment Protection and Heritage Council, National Water Commission); health (Cancer Australia, National Health and Medical Research Council); human services (Child Support Agency, Medicare Australia); and transport and infrastructure (Australian Rail Track Corporation Limited, Civil Aviation Safety Authority).
