Passports must be valid for three months from intended date of departure. Visa requirements vary and should be checked before travel. Personal effects are duty free provided they are declared upon arrival. There are restrictions on the import of luxury goods. Normal Muslim customs prevail, as Bangladesh is a Muslim country. Alcohol and pork products are thus forbidden by law. A thorough health check and full vaccinations are recommended before entering the country. All visitors require a yellow-fever certificate, without which they risk quarantine.
