The Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority was established in the late 1990s to promote and facilitate foreign direct investment in export-oriented products and services in the country. Other key economic development agencies include the Local Enterprise Authority, which supports the development of small and medium-sized enterprises; the Botswana Development Corporation, a government-owned investment vehicle; and the Botswana National Productivity Centre, which promotes the productivity good practice in Botswana.
