Find Transport expertise in Botswana
As a landlocked country, Botswana’s nearest access to the sea is via South Africa, and road and rail links through that country are of vital importance. The domestic road network extends to some 25,000 km; central government is responsible for some 50% of the network, mainly highways. Botswana Railways has, during the 2000s, invested heavily in new signalling and telecommunications systems, and in a major overhaul of locomotives and rolling stock. The national carrier, Air Botswana, runs regular domestic and regional services. Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (Gaborone) is the country’s main international airport.
