Universities and Colleges in Botswana

Tertiary education in Botswana is provided by 27 mostly public institutions. The University of Botswana and its affiliated institutions, which include the colleges of education, the nursing institutions and the College of Agriculture, offer courses leading to certificates, diplomas and degrees. The Botswana International University of Science and Technology was established in Palapye by a public-private partnership; it is expected to accept its first students in March 2011. The Institute of Development Management accepts students from throughout the region. Other tertiary institutions include Botswana College of Agriculture, Botswana Institute of Administration and Commerce, and Botswana College of Distance and Open Learning. Literacy among people aged 15–24 is 95% (2009).
