Research Institutes in Brunei Darussalam

Brunei has a surprisingly large range of research institutes for a country of its size. These include a certain number of think tanks such as the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), the Brunei Darussalam Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (IPSS), Sultan Haji Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies and the Brunei Research Council. Many of the more scientifically-orientated institutions are run with or have links to, the Universiti Brunei Darussalam. These include the Kuala Belalong Field Studies Centre (KBFSC), which conducts research in the endangered rainforests of Borneo.
