Find Oil and Gas expertise in Cyprus

Cyprus’ energy sector is characterised by a high dependence on imported energy. Currently no oil or gas reserves are being exploited in the country. However, exploration of nearby offshore gas and petroleum resources is underway.

In 2012 United States’ company Nobel Energy Inc., which had been exploring the maritime regions off the southeast coast of Cyprus since 2008, announced the discovery of significant natural gas deposits, known as the Aphrodite gas field. Deposits of natural gas were estimated at approximately 226 billion cubic metres, with an estimated value of US$129 billion. Initial drilling in the Aphrodite gas field began in 2013.
