Standards and Regulation in Cyprus

Cyprus ranks 37 out of 183 countries in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index (2011). The country ranks highly in terms of starting a business (22 out of 183) and ease of cross-border trading (19 out of 183). Key regulatory bodies in the country include the Commission for the Protection of Competition, the Office of the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation, the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority, the Cyprus Radio-Television Authority and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. Cyprus is a member of the International Standards Organisation with the coordinating body being the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation.
