Freight and shipping in Dominica is predominantly transported by sea, due to the limited size of the nation’s airports. Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority (DASPA) is the main organisation responsible for the infrastructure for the freight and shipping industries. The country’s ports are located at Woodbridge Bay, Portsmouth and in the capital of Roseau, the main artery for almost all foreign trade. Port Roseau is a small harbour with a channel of 76 feet or 23.3 meters and a cargo pier of 36-40 feet or 11-12.2 meters.
