As of 2009, there were 10 private security companies, and over 180 private security officers in Dominica. There is no primary legislation directly covering the industry, though there is the Companies and Firearms Act which provides some legislative cover. In terms of regulation, Dominica has none — though there have been calls to establish some sort of body to fill this role. Examples of private security firms in the country include Kings Garment Security, G & P Security Services, Industrial Commercial Security Services Ltd and Integrated Security Systems Limited.
