National Agencies

The government of Fiji has established national agencies in order to carry out some of the responsibilities that would usually be undertaken by government ministries. These institutions are publicly funded bodies, commissions or authorities whose establishment is backed by an act of parliament.

Currently there are around 50 of these bodies, of which notable examples include: the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, the National Trust of Fiji Islands and the Consumer Council of Fiji.
