Tourism in Grenada
Grenada is a mix of natural beauty, rich history and vibrant cultural heritage. Grenada’s capital city, St. George’s, has been described as one of the most picturesque cities in the Caribbean. The volcanic landscape has an abundance of crater lakes, rainforests and coastal mangrove plantations. There are over 45 white sand beaches and the surrounding waters are filled with coral reefs. Popular water activities include surfing, sailing and diving. Other tourist attractions include visiting Carriacou Museum, guided tours of the islands rum distilleries, hiking in Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve, spice tours and visiting Carnival Lucky Springs and the islands various waterfalls. Music is also an important part of life on Grenada and there are often local festivals such as the annual Billfish tournament, Carriacou Regatta, Grenada Sailing Festival, Rock the Spice Music Festival, Fisherman birthday and Gouyave Fish Friday.
