Textbooks used in Indian schools and colleges are generally produced by the government, which has an estimated 70% stake of the country’s entire textbook market. An interesting point of note is that it also has access to subsidised paper and low overhead costs. Notably the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, a private non-profit organisation is the board administering the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, and the Indian School Certificate, taken at k-10 And k-12 classes respectfully which are recognised in the UK.
