Transport in India
International airlines run regular services to all of India’s major cities; though notable Indian airlines include Air India and Indian Airlines, and multiple smaller, commercial ventures. The native airlines also provide internal flights, which are a very viable option, considering India’s massive size. They provide routes to over 70 different cities, and offer discounts to foreigners. The rail system in India is amongst the largest in the world. It covers over 7000 destinations, and is very inexpensive in the international context. There are frequent express trains between all major cities and local buses link up to cover smaller towns not serviced by the rail network. Both first class, and the more popular second class trains are fitted with air conditioning. Buses are run on a local level, and though effective, they can be very uncomfortable.
