Find National NGO expertise in Jamaica
There are numerous local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) involved in all sectors of Jamaica’s national development, notably in education, health and the environment. Civil society plays a key role in supporting marginalised sectors of the country and in assisting Jamaica with sustainable development. Notable NGOs include: Jamaica’s AIDS Support for Life; the National Environmental Societies Trust (NEST), which serves as an umbrella for environmental NGOs in Jamaica; the Combined Disabilities Association; the Build Jamaica Foundation (BJF), which runs development programmes aimed at combating social and economic decline in Jamaica; the Association of Women’s Organizations; the Association of Development Agencies (ADA); the Council of Churches; the Medical Association of Jamaica; and the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA).
