The media in Kenya is regarded by independent observers to be partly free. The main English-language newspapers are Daily Nation, The Standard, Kenya Times, The People Daily and EastAfrican (weekly). The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) operates TV channels in English and Swahili, including Metro TV, targeting young people in Nairobi. There are several privately owned TV stations.
