Find Trade Association expertise in Kiribati

The two major organisations in this sector are the Kiribati Major Employers’ Organisation (KIMEO), and the Kiribati Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), which as well as the Kiribati Trade Union Congress (KTUC), are social partners of the ILO. Another example is the Kiribati Industrialists Association.  The KCCI was established in the early 1970’s with the vision to create a strong private sector within the country, and for this sector to form greater partnerships with the national government. The KCCI largely concentrates on trade issues and industrial relations. To some degree, the Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development acts as a trade association (due to the dominance of the local public sector) and helps with intra-employer relations and training.
