Research and Consultancy in Malawi

As one of the least developed countries in the world, Malawi receives substantial levels of aid (21% of GNI), many of which is channelled through projects and government programmes that require relevant expertise. Thus, in addition to the common business and tax type of consultancies, major lines of consultancy also include health, infrastructure development and economic development. On the research front, the Malawi National Research Council and the University of Malawi have undertaken contract research projects across a wide variety of disciplines, including agricultural production, ICTs, credit and access to inputs, farmer organisations, and trade and marketing.
