The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry is the leading national business promotion body, particularly for small and medium enterprises; in May 2009, it had 282 members. The confederation works with members to develop export markets for their products and sourcing appropriate technical support. The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Private-sector Development is responsible for business policy.
