Standards and Regulation in Malaysia
Malaysia is an investor-friendly country. It ranks 21 out of 183 countries in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business report. A high ranking on the Ease of Doing Business index means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the start-up and operation of businesses. Key regulators include the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (the telecom regulator), Bank Negara Malaysia (the financial regulator), and the Securities Commission (the capital markets regulator). Malaysia is a member of the International Organisation of Standardisation. Standards Malaysia is the local and official standards and accreditation body.
