Education NGOs and CSOs in Malaysia
The National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) is Malaysia’s largest teachers’ organisation is perhaps the most prominent voice in civil society. There are many NGOs and charities working in the education sector to enhance quality, expand access to rural communities, and promote social cohesion and wellbeing. Notable examples include Karhuney, an NGO working to aid needy students of Indian descent; the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM); and the international youth NGO Raleigh International, which has been working on education projects in parts of Malaysia.
