Enterprise Malta promotes foreign investment and economic development in the country. The agency seeks to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country and develop new export markets for Maltese businesses. Helped by the agency’s efforts, Malta attracted roughly €12.5 billion of FDI in 2010.

Alongside this, Enterprise Malta provides various services for businesses, such as helping companies set up or expand their operations and making contacts with other business associations abroad. There are of course numerous other economic development agencies such as the Malta Tourism Authority, Employment and Training Corporation, Malta Financial Services Authority, Financial Assistance Commission, and the Malta Standards Authority.
