Standards and Regulation in Malta

All the main economic activities of Malta are subject to regulation and have a relevant organisation to oversee their activities. Examples of these organisations include: the Malta Financial Services Authority, the Malta Communications Authority, the Public Broadcasting Authority, and the Public Health Regulation Division. The regulatory regime of Malta’s financial sector is recognised worldwide; the World Economic Forum judged Malta to have the 10th most sound banking sector and 11th best financial market development out of 139 countries.

Malta is part of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the domestic standards authority is the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA).
