The largest union in Malta is the General Workers’ Union (GWU) of Malta, which represents the interests of almost 35% of the Maltese workforce. The other large labour organisation in Malta is the Union of United Workers, known as the Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM), which in 2010 had over 25,000 members. Another well-established labour body in the country is the Malta Union of Teachers.
