National Agencies

There are many national agencies in Mauritius working across many areas, including capacity-building, finance, health, education and sustainable development. National agencies are publicly funded bodies, commissions, state-owned enterprises or authorities whose establishment is backed by an Act of Parliament. They include, among others, the National Housing Development Corporation (NHDC), which works to develop and facilitate the provision of high quality housing and other buildings for residential and commercial purposes, and the National Computer Board (NCB), which seeks to empower the people, businesses and the public sector by developing and promoting ICT and ICT-related services in Mauritius.
