There are many large corporations in Mozambique, most of which hold offices in the capital, Maputo. Mozal, an aluminium foundry operated by BHP Billiton, and the Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Dam (HCB) are two of the largest. Other large companies include Moçambique Cellular (mCell), Petromoc, Sasol Petroleum Temane, Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM), Telecomunicações de Moçambique (TDM), C.M.C Africa Austral and BP Moçambique. Financial ventures from South Africa play a significant role in developing Mozambique’s economy. Major companies with significant investments include SA Breweries, Standard Bank and Anglo American.
