Research and Consultancy in Mozambique
Consultancy services in Mozambique span many sectors, including general, business, tax, accounting, mining, human resource and environmental consultancy. Large consultancy firms in the country include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and Deloitte, who all hold offices in Maputo. Swiss Capital Partners are also operational and assists Mozambican companies and foreign investors with obtaining finance from local and international lenders for their projects in Mozambique. New legislation offering tax incentives makes Mozambique an interesting option for foreign investors. Aside from research being undertaken by the large consultancy firms, much research is being carried out by several independent organisations, such as the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Maputo. Mozambique’s Research and Education Network (MORENET), facilitated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is set to be a nationwide data network to interconnect academic and research institutions and aims to advance continual collaboration between the various research institutions.
