Find Trade Union expertise in Mozambique

There are over 21 unions in Mozambique, grouped into two main branches – The Organisation of Mozambican Workers (OTM) and the Confederation of Free and Independent Trade Unions (CONSILMO) (2006). OTM has about 90,000 members, while CONSILMO broke away from OTM in 1998 and established itself as a separate union. Other trade bodies in the country include the Hotels and Tourism Federation, which aside from defending the interests of its members also promotes additional expansion of tourism activities. There is a strong contingent of bodies that specifically represent women, such as the Mozambican Association of Women in Legal Profession, the Association of Rural Women (AMRU) and the Committee of the Working Woman of the Organisation of Mozambican Workers (COMUTRA).
