Bilateral and Multilateral Co-operation

Mozambique has strong bilateral relationships with the UK, the US and various Scandinavian countries, including Finland and Norway. The donor/recipient relationship with the UK is expressed through the Department for International Development (DFID). DFID has supported numerous developmental projects in Mozambique over the years.

Mozambique is also a member of the African Union (AU), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Islamic Conference Organisation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), the Organisation of Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), and the Indian Ocean Rim-Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC).
