Standards and Regulation in Namibia
Namibia is a member of the International Organization for Standardization. The coordinating bureau for standards in the country is the Namibian Standards Institution. Regulators include the Namibia Atomic Energy Board, constituted in 2009, which oversees nuclear energy technologies; the Bank of Namibia; the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA), which regulates the non-banking financial sector; the Electricity Control Board; and the telecommunications regulator, Namibian Communications Commission.
