Bilateral and Multilateral Co-operation

The Regional and Bilateral Affairs Department promotes Namibia’s political and economic relations with Europe and OECD countries, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, the Caribbean, Asia, and the Pacific Rim countries. The Multilateral Policy Coordination Department promotes Namibia’s political and economic relations with the African Union, the United Nations, the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Non-aligned Movement.

Major bilateral donor agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and The German Development Corporation (GTZ), operate in the country. Notably, the Namibia Water Resources Management Agency is funded by the government of Namibia and GTZ.
