Transport in Namibia

Different modes of travel are available for tourists; the Desert Express train between Swakopmund and Windhoek; luxury coach services that cross the country; car rental at all airports and in Windhoek; aircraft excursions; and taxis. Traffic drives on the left. There are daily connections from Frankfurt, London and Johannesburg to Hosea Kutako International Airport, 40 km outside Windhoek. Internal or domestic flights are also available from Hosea Kutako International Airport, as well as from Eros and Walvis Bay airports and several small regional airports. Namibia’s roads are generally well maintained and link up with neighbouring countries.
