Nauru does not have a well-established marketing, advertising or PR sector. The small scale of Nauru’s economy and the dominance of state-owned enterprises is not conducive to a competitive market environment. However with regards to international marketing, the Nauru Tourism department and various local companies run their own websites to attract customers and visitors to the island.
There is no commercial radio or television in Nauru and a limited printed press with only three newspapers in circulation.
Internet access is low and fewer than 500 people on the island have a Facebook account, as such there is no substantial social media advertising or marketing activity.
