Find Media and Broadcasting expertise in Nauru

Nauru has no daily or independent newspaper. The Nauru Bulletin is published weekly by the government-owned Nauru Media Bureau in Nauruan and English, while Central Star News and The Nauru Chronicle are published fortnightly. The Nauru Media Bureau is the only media organisation and provides radio and television broadcasts. Radio is available all over Nauru but TV is available to only half of the island. While most broadcasted content is foreign, there are various projects in place to encourage local production of programmes, as well as encouraging broadcasts in Nauruan. However, as the Nauru Media Bureau is state-owned, the government  exerts considerable pressure on editorial independence. Freedom of expression is provided by the Nauru constitution.

A couple of websites report on news from across the Pacific: Islands Business and Pacific Islands News Association.
