Research Institutes in Nauru

The Department of Culture is charged with researching and preserving Nauru’s traditional arts, language and culture; there is a special unit designated for the development of the Nauru dictionary. The US-based Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Program’s Climate Research Facility has one of its permanent Tropical Western Pacific research stations in Nauru which collects continuous climatic data that will help better understand the interactions between clouds and incoming and outgoing energy; this data will improve general circulation models used in global climate change studies.
