Telecom, New Zealand’s largest telecommunications service provider, is the country’s largest company by market value, which is around NZ$40 ($US34) Billion (2011). Other large companies include Fletchers Building Ltd, New Zealand’s largest construction company, with a market value of over $NZ 20 billion; and Contact Energy, one of the countries leading energy generators and retailers, with a market value of around NZ$2.5 (US$2.1) billion.
