Find Water and Sanitation expertise in New Zealand

New Zealand is ranked fifth in the world in terms of water availability meaning it has a high amount of internal renewable water available per person. New Zealand’s water supply system is managed by Territorial Local Authorities, which are public-sector organisations. They are also responsible for trunk sewerages and sewage treatment. There is little private sector involvement.

Water New Zealand is the premier organization for the water sector in the country. It is comprised of around 1,500 individual and corporate members and focuses on the sustainable management and promotion of the countries water environment. There is a substantial domestic market for bottled water and some companies, such as Marsden International, export bottled New Zealand mineral water.
