Research Institutes in Nigeria
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, based in the capital, Abuja, coordinates research and development of technologies relevant to small and medium enterprises. The Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research, with headquarters at University of Ibadan, conducts social and economic policy research, primarily for the federal government. The Nigerian Academy of Science is the professional body for scholars in the fields of science, engineering and medicine, and is a source of expert advice to government and private sector. The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is an international organisation based in Ibadan since 1967, which conducts research for the development of African agriculture.
