The Ministry of Foreign Affairs directs Nigeria’s foreign policy and its diplomatic relations, and promotes and protects the country’s and its citizens’ interests abroad. Nigeria participates in the Economic Community of West African States, the UN and the Commonwealth, and it is a founding member of the African Union.
