Tourism in Pakistan
Pakistan is situated between the mountain ranges of the Hindu Kush, Karakorum and Himalaya. These ranges are home to some of the highest peaks in the world, such as K2 and Nanga Parbat, which provide an extraordinary backdrop for trekking, mountain climbing and skiing. Wildlife is also abundant in these areas; snow leopard, bears and ibex can all be found in the northern most parts of the country.
Alongside Pakistan’s natural beauty is the evidence of its rich cultural past. The cities of Lahore and Peshawar have many ancient bazaars, mosques and citadels, of which most are still in use. The border at Wagah is the site of fantastic military displays, and for the intrepid, visiting the tribes of the Kailash valley is not to be missed.
