Standards and Regulation in Papua New Guinea

Regulators include the Bank of Papua New Guinea, the Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea (SCPNG), the Business Registration & Regulation Division (BRRD) of the Investment Promotion Authority, and PANGTEL, the licensing authority and regulator of telecommunications. The National Institute of Standards and Industrial Technology of Papua New Guinea (NISIT) is the government body established under the NISIT Act 1993 to evaluate, improve and establish conformity assessment schemes, and to address issues of productivity and technical barriers to trade. Papua New Guinea is a correspondent member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
