Find Trade Union expertise in Rwanda

In Rwanda all workers except for civil servants and state officials can join and form trade unions and engage in collective bargaining. Trade unions must register with the Ministry of Justice for official recognition as an administrative formality. The Centrale des Syndicats des Travailleurs du Rwanda (CESTRAR) is the organisation that represents trade unions in the country. The International Trade Union Confederation (COTRAF) promotes and advances the rights of the worker. Other trade bodies include The Union of Workers in Industry, Garages, Construction Firms, Mines and Printers (STRIGECOMI), The Public and Commercial Services Union, The Diplomatic Service Association, and Prospect, which represents technical staff and other specialists.
