Research Institutes in Rwanda

The National Agricultural Research Institute (ISAR) is one of the primary research institutions in the country, reflecting the importance of the agricultural sector to the country’s economic growth. The Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IRST) is the leading institution that promotes and investigates mechanisms for a knowledge-based and technology-led economy in Rwanda. The government, through The National University Council, is responsible for the creation of improved faculties, institutes and additional research centres. The Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (IPAR-Rwanda) is a non-profit, non-governmental, independent research institute mandated to support the formulation of public policies.
