Governor-General

The Governor-General of Saint Lucia is the official representative of Queen Elizabeth II. Acting in accordance with the Constitution of Saint Lucia, the governor-general appoints senators to parliament, officiates laws and government functions, and holds the power to prorogue or dissolve parliament. It is also the role of the governor-general to promote the country’s cultural, historical, social and economic interests. The residence and office of the governor-general is located at Government House on Morne Fortune Street in Castries.
