Transport in Saint Lucia
Several international airlines run regular services into Saint Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport, with Air Caraibes, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways flying direct from London in 9 hours. George F L Charles airport handles regional flights, and helicopter transfers are available between the two airports. Local bus services are available between Castries, Vieux Fort and Soufriere. Taxis in Saint Lucia are easily available and reasonably priced, with fixed rates set for standard trips. In terms of water travel, there are two-berth cruise ship facilities at Pointe Seraphine, and L’Express des Iles provides a high-speed catamaran service between Saint Lucia and Dominica. Boats and water taxis may be chartered at Castries, Marigot Bay and Rodney Bay. Tourists with a national driving license or international permit may arrange car hire from companies in the larger cities.
