Universities and Colleges in Sierra Leone
There are many tertiary institutions in Sierra Leone that offer training across various disciplines. The main tertiary institutions include the Fourah Bay College, one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in West Africa is located in Freetown. Fourah Bay College along with Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (Freetown), Eastern Polytechnic (main campus in Kenema) and other independent tertiary institutions, are all affiliated to the University of Sierra Leone. Njala University maintains campuses in Bo and Njala. The country also has a number of teacher-training, technical and vocational institutions providing certificate and diploma courses. Literacy among people aged 15-24 was 59% in 2010.
