Find Trade Union expertise in Solomon Islands

The constitution of the Solomon Islands implicitly recognises the rights of workers to form and join unions and the two largest trade unions are the Solomon Islands Public Employees Union (SIPEU) and the Solomon Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA). An estimated 10 per cent of the Solomon Islands population participated in the formal sector of the economy in 2010, and of that 10 per cent, approximately 55 per cent of employees in the public sector and 25 per cent of private employees were organised into unions.
