Transport in Solomon Islands

Henderson International Airport is the main point of entry to the Solomon Islands located on Guadalcanal, about 15 minutes drive from Honiara with available bus and taxi service. The Solomon Islands are served internationally by Solomon Airlines, Air Pacific and Pacific Blue from Australia, Fiji and Vanuatu and domestically by several smaller airlines. There are three large ports on Guadalcanal Island, Russel Islands and New Georgia however there are few transportation options by boat. The cargo line Bank offers limited passenger places but it is possible to access the islands by personal boat or yacht. Avis, Budget and several other agencies let cars around the main islands and there are various inbound tour operators to facilitate island-to-island travel.
